The MAC is about to embark on another first. Between Saturday 6 – Saturday 13 October, the MAC will be hosting its very first festival for young people to coincide with the launch of their dedicated youth-led space – The Den.
The MAC is handing itself over to young people for the eight days of the MADE festival with a jam-packed week of fun activities for young people to get involved in. Young people can enjoy a workshop for just £2.50, go to an event for £5 or less, or drop in to lots of activities free of charge. Great value MADE ticket bundles are also available, as well as food deals in Canteen at the MAC throughout the festival.
The MAC has teamed up with a host of local partner organisations to deliver this fantastic festival line up of events, ranging from a pop up garden on the balcony by Root & Branch Organic to a Volume Control all ages gig, on loan from its usual home at the Oh Yeah Music Centre. There will also be events in partnership with T13-based organisations Crafty Belfast, delivering a number of workshops on how to revamp your old clothes, shoes and jewellery and FreeRun5, who will be providing an energetic free running display in Saint Anne’s Square followed by free running workshops.
Other events include the smallest cinema in the world, workshops with textile artists from the University of Ulster, a Red Cross photo exhibition and a drop in surgery for those wanting to find out more about starting their own theatre company, rock band or tips on how to live organic.
The MADE festival runs from 6-13 October with all events and workshops under £5 and lots of free of charge drop in activities. To find out more about the festival, MADE ticket bundles and Canteen food deals visit themaclive.com or call 028 9023 5053.
