A night at Cipriani

On Thursday, yet another wet night in Belfast, I dodged the showers and walked through the city to the launch party for Belfast’s latest chic eatery CIPRIANI Bar, Grill & Pizzeria on the Lisburn Road.

The building has been through a number of reincarnations over the years, but it’s come up trumps this time. It’s all set to cater for a number of different customers, with an Italian Restaurant, Pizzeria, Tapas Bar and Music Lounge all in one. Basically once you’re in the door you are there for the night. And to make it even more appealing, the surroundings are quirky, luxurious and glamourous, or luxe if you care to be all hip and on trend.

Downstairs, the restaurant was full, with diners enjoying what looked like some tasty looking Italian homemade dishes. I liked that you could see over the pizza bar and beyond to the kitchens for a bit of chef watching.

Upstairs, the Tapas Bar and Music Lounge was busy and buzzing, with a lot of cocktails and tapas being enjoyed. It looked like everyone had come along to the opening party to sip on a cocktail or three and chat and catch up. I met up with the girls from Northern Ireland Wedding Belle magazine, I think they had escaped the office for a minute to get away from some deadline pressures.

Cipriani certainly looks like it’s going to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road and I’ll definitely be booking it for a night out to enjoy an Italian meal, then to go upstairs for cocktails and music. Perfetto!
