Belfast will be awash with fabulous festive song as well as shoppers with Carols in the City, a wonderful celebration of classic Christmas Carols and readings taking place tonight. (Friday 7th December at 7.30pm) at May Street Church.
Music Theatre 4 Youth and Cash for Kids, supported by Charles Hurst and hosted by Gary Myles and Kirstie McMurray from Downtown Radio, have teamed up to create this amazing interdenominational Christmas Concert.
Carols in the City will include a number of musical performances by the talented teens of MT4Uth and young players from the Ulster youth Orchestra, with a wonderful selection of old and unique carols and readings specially arranged by Irish composer, Philip Hammond. The entire event is directed by the exceptionally talented and highly respected Barry McGonagle, one of Northern Ireland’s rising stars, and will feature a guest appearance by the traditional Irish music group McPeake.
Everyone is welcome, so why not take time out during the hectic build up to Christmas and enjoy an exceptional musical experience in the unique ambience of May Street Church, whilst raising valuable funds for Cash for Kids. Guests will also be able to enjoy the delights of the Christmas Fayre after the concert.
In addition, Carols in the City will be recorded by Downtown Radio and Cool FM to be aired on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve in a one hour long special.
