A couple of weeks ago I was invited on a roadtrip to a boohoo A/W12 launch party in Dublin. I was collected from the City centre and four of us were whisked down to Dublin for an evening of fashion, music and treats.
The launch was primarily to launch the new boohoo, in house designed, exclusive and limited edition new collection, boohoo Boutique.
Although there was a selection of boohoo AW12 products on display, the new collection was the definite highlight of the launch, and the boohoo team were there to guide us through the boohoo Boutique collection, which featured a lot of brocade, lace and studs.
In contrast to the dark romantic look of the new collection, the venue was bathed in pink lighting, which is a nightmare for taking photos, as you can see from these images. But I still managed, with boohoo’s permission, to take some teaser photos of the collection to tweet out on the night. I had to ask, because the boohoo Boutique collection was embargoed until it launched online yesterday on the boohoo online shop.
At the launch we met two of the girls from the current UK and Ireland Next Top Model TV show, we were also treated to a fabulous acoustic performance from UK girl-band Stooshe, and we even spotted a lookalike. Although you can’t see from the photo, he really was a dead ringer for George Clooney and Nuala just had to get her photo taken with him!
So what is boohoo Boutique all about?
It’s an exclusive, limited range of womenswear separates, dresses, and outerwear, designed in-house by the team at boohoo. The collection ranges in price from £25 – £70 , it’s luxury without the price tag.
boohoo Boutique is a dark romantic collection with rich gold brocade, black PU, and lavish rivet detailing. They have described it perfectly as a hardened rock edge, married with a gothic romanticism, and that pretty much sums it up.
So make sure you click into the boohoo Boutique shop and start spending.
