Belfast Music Week launched its 3rd programme last week in Harlem (not the New York one).
Last year Music Week ended with the star studded MTV awards, when Belfast was beamed across the world, making us THE city to be seen in. The MTV Awards and Belfast Music Week can probably take the credit for starting off an amazing year for Belfast and N. Ireland.
Before the launch we were treated to a delicious breakfast bap by the lovely Faye…Mrs Harlem herself!
Kicking off the launch was the Mayor of Belfast, Gavin Robinson, followed by Stuart Bailie, CEO of the Oh Yeah music centre, and Belfast Music Week co-ordinator.
After the beautiful performance by Katharine Phillipa to end Music Week launch, I needed to get my photo to mark the occasion. At the back I spotted Gavin and Katharine chatting, so in I pounced and ended up getting this great photo. I wondered why they both looked so smiley when I held up my phone to take the photo, and it wasn’t until later on I realised I had my Keep er lit you buck eejit phone cover on! Oops!
The full programme for this years Music Week has yet to be announced, but we’ve been promised weekly updates and press releases. We do know there are 3 big events happening, with something special in the 150 year old Ulster Hall.
Music Week is on from 4-11 Nov and you can keep up to date with all Belfast Music Week news at www.belfastmusic.org
