Belfast FASHIONWEEK already seems like such a long time ago! How time flies!
Last Friday we headed to the Europa Hotel for the High Street FASHIONWEEK night, featuring our chums at Boohoo. Boohoo were hosting a Popup boutique launch just before the main show, so naturally we just had to be there.
Boohoo are one of the largest UK online fashion etailers and obviously with 2012 being our year, they just had to come over and see for themselves. And what a weekend to be here….St Patrick’s Day!
Anyway, back to fashion, we almost felt like we were on the set of Fashion Police and expected Joan Rivers and her team to appear at any time. All the fashionistas were out for the glamour of FASHIONWEEK, some were dressed to impress, others were maybe trying to impress a bit too much, and then there was us just doing our thing.
The show was fantastic as always with Boohoo kicking things off to the sounds of Madonna blasting out. It was young, fresh and funky!
The models worked their way through a number of retailers’ fashion, including a Castle Court collection, Marks and Spencer, Heatons, French Connection and George. I’m sure I’ve forgotten someone in there, sorry.
Bizarrely, for some reason when a male model came out to walk the walk, the audience squealed. Maybe the they got a bit confused and thought they were at another kind of show and had £5 notes at the ready? But the guys modelling just lapped it up anyway, one even coming down off the catwalk to kiss some unsuspecting and now very flattered/embarrassed lady on the front row.
As always Cathy Martin and her team pulled it out of the bag and treated us all to a fantastic night. We were taken in to another world, the world of glamour…all that was missing was Victoria Beckham or Paris Hilton on the front row. Maybe next time!
