Roy Walker, our very own Belfast boy has always been a bit of a cult figure, from his years presenting ‘Catchphrase’, right up to his recent ‘Carpark Catchphrase’ features on the Chris Moyles Radio 1 breakfast show. Roy has done a lot of TV over the years, but these days he can be found touring universities around the country and playing to sell out audiences.
To many he’s just the locally born comedian who was once a soprano in the Francis Longford choir, then a champion hammer thrower. Well maybe ‘many’ didn’t really know that, but you do now.
Roy is finally returning home for a mini tour of Northern Ireland in September, starting off at the Market Place in Armagh this Saturday night.
Saturday 1 September Market Place, Armagh
Friday 14 September Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey
Friday 21 September Ardhowen, Enniskillen
Saturday 22 September Riverside, Coleraine
Sunday 18 November Grand Opera House, Belfast
If you are a fan, then it’s time to get those tickets booked!
