3 Charities, 2 events, 1 weekend

Are you looking for a few adventurous things to do on the weekend of 24/25th March?
I’ve just come across 2 which might appeal to the performers and the adventurers out there.

First is the X-Factor inspired singing contest the ‘Y-Factor’, at The Empire Music Hall on Saturday 24th March in aid of learning disability charity, Mencap. This event will give aspiring singers and songwriters the chance to perform in front of a live audience and a judging panel. I hear there are only a few places left, so if you think this is for you and you’d like the chance to record a track with Sound House Music, then send an email off to Mencap for more info : yfactorni@mencap.org.uk

For the more adventurous of you, that weekend you could be scaling the heights of the Obel building in Belfast for a Charity abseil. The 2 Charities benefitting from the abseil are Save the Children and the Ulster Cancer Foundation. A few years ago we abseiled down BT Tower and it was quite amazing, but as the Obel is currently the tallest building in Ireland (88m with 28 floors) we are very tempted! We’ve heard that the 300 spaces available are disappearing fast, so make contact with them quickly!
For more information on the abseil, check out their website on www.obelabseil.com or their twitter account on @obelabseil
