Ulster Rugby v Belfast Giants

boojum, Ireland’s first Mexican burrito bar, is inviting the Belfast Giants and Ulster Rugby teams to battle the burritos on Wednesday 14th November 2012 at 8pm in boojum, Chichester Street, to raise money for local charity Make-A-Wish. Eight players from each of the well loved sports teams will be battling the boojum time trial in arguably one of the most competitive games of the season, to be crowned boojum’s best. Each player will be challenged to scoff their burrito as quickly as possible before the next team member will be allowed to begin; when the last player has completely finished, the clock will stop.

John Blisard from boojum says, “The first boojum restaurant opened five years ago and from the very beginning our customers have been eager for us to launch an eating contest. We have had many suggestions from all-you-can-eat, to a hot-sauce Russian roulette but we decided to take a competitive, team approach and came up with the time challenge. We are delighted that the Ulster Rugby and Belfast Giant players have kindly agreed to take part and once the winner is crowned, we will then be organising further evenings so groups of customers can come and challenge the winning time. Everyone is welcome to watch the Ulster Rugby- Giants match and we hope we can raise a substantial amount of money for a great cause.”

Burrito fanatics wishing to attend the exciting eating contest are encouraged to donate generously to Mish-A-Wish. Make-A-Wish has granted more than 8000 wishes over the last 25 years in the UK and last year in Northern Ireland alone the charity granted 59 magical wishes. For more information please visit www.make-a-wish.org.uk.

The challenge will take place on 14th November from 8-9pm in boojum, 19-27 Chichester Street, Belfast. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to RVSP to emma@boojummex.com and invited to make a donation by betting on a winning team, to help the work of Make-a-Wish. Customers interested in challenging the winning time can get in touch via Facebook (www.facebook.com/boojumbelfast), Twitter (@boojum_belfast) or by emailing emma@boojummex.com.
