The Titanic Boys

Titanic, we all know about it, well, after the centenary events in April this year, we should know a lot more about it. But then along comes Titanic Boys by local producer and writer Martin Lynch, and he puts a complete new angle on the story and manages to bring out all manner of emotions from the audience.
Quite simply the show is the ‘must see’ show of the summer. I’m going to gush about it a bit, as I absolutely loved it and have been raving on about it to everyone I’ve seen over the weekend. You’ll laugh, you’ll learn and you’ll shed a tear at this beautiful and emotional take on the lives of the Guarantee Group from Belfast who accompanied the ship on it’s journey across the Atlantic.
The cast are just superb, and I keep wondering if there was a ‘star’ of the show, but everyone gets the opportunity to absolutely shine. Ah, Ciaran Nolan, he’s the star, no, Terence Keeley, he’s the star, no, Kerri Quinn, she’s the star. Yes they have their moments to shine, but I reckon it’s Martin Lynch who’s the star for creating the Titanic Boys
You’ve seen the Titanic movies, the TV series, you may even have been to Titanic Belfast, but Martin has created a story which brings it back home to Belfast and throughout the show it’s the local references, the local accents and the local humour, which just makes the Titanic Boys special.
I can’t honestly recommend it more, you just have to get tickets to see this engaging and emotional story. Oh and even though you know the ending, expect to shed a tear.
Titanic Boys is on in the Opera House until the 25 August, and you have to see it!

I too saw the play this week and was blown away with the acting the story and the Opera House in general, what a venue. The highlight to round the evening off was the fantastic merchandise on sale in the foyer, it is being sold by White Star Momentos a professional Titanic gift company – they have loads of great items on sale from 50p to £50.00, you dont even have to be going to the play to be able to buy as the Titanic shop is open every day.

Well done Martin Lynch, The Opera House and White Star Momentos !
