Belfast Today : The Potted Hen

Finally after months of talking about it, we finally made it to The Potted Hen at St Annes Square. The sister restaurant to the Oregano, The Potted Hen is a relatively new addition to Belfasts food scene. And now having eaten there, it’s a very welcome addition.
First off, I don’t like or eat fish, but if ever I was going to be converted, it was the starter here which may well have caused a dramatic change in my fish loathing taste buds. The fish cake was delicious, as was my chicken and mash main and topping the list was the Brioche bread and butter pudding….YUM! We nearly did an Oliver and asked for more! Yes clearly we had a bit of a pig out, but it was worth it.
Disappointingly for them, the place wasn’t busy, but I wouldn’t let that put you off, as the food was mighty fine and the service was great. One of our party of 4 decided that the restaurant deserved a 9 out of 10 and I must agree. Belfast Times will be back and so should you all!
Check the website at The Potted Hen and get that booking made.
