The confessions of a sometimes chocoholic

Yes I said it, the confessions of a sometimes chocoholic, although the ‘sometimes’ word is questionable these days!

Remembering Easter as a child always brings back memories of a lot of Easter Eggs, the buttons eggs, the jelly tots eggs, the yorkie eggs or the early years of the Cadbury’s Creme Eggs. Mostly very simple with plain eggs and complex packaging.

Fast forward to 2017 and the eggs are more complex and the packaging simplified. Nowhere shows the popularity of fancy Easter chocolates better than our favourite shops for chocolate treats this Easter, Marks and Spencer, or by going local with CoCouture in Belfast or even the chocolate heaven of Hotel Chocolat! Did you know Hotel Chocolat are opening their first ever NI Cafe next month! You’ll be able to try their awesome chocolates in what will be amazing hot chocolate drinks. Trust us, we tried them in Liverpool last month.

Here are a few of the amazing Hotel Chocolat eggs creations available this Easter. Oh and huge thanks for The Egglet Sleekster box Hotel Chocolat, they didn’t last long!

Their hugely popular and HUGE Ostrich Egg £75
All Our Eggs in One Basket £50
The Egglet Sleekster

In M&S you’ll find eggs of all shapes and sizes from the kids collection to the adult collection, eggs from the movies, a fantastic lamb egg and of course the egg based on hugely popular M&S Percy Pig. There really is so much to choose from in M&S this year and for us, Laid Back Lamb is the best of the lot and it’s also proving popular with customers. If you love the fun side of Easter eggs, then Bendy Bob is, well he’s bendy! And check out this fab green basket filled with chocolate eggs, customers at our stall in St George’s will no doubt see the reusable basket appear on our stall on one of our seasonal displays at some point. Thanks for the eggs M&S, we are loving munching our way through them!

Over to our own local CoCouture chocolate shop in Belfast, with its newly refurbished premises and extra cafe space to enjoy that award winning hot chocolate. You’ll find lots of Easter egg treats this week in this basement delight close to the City Hall. Deirdre is a chocolatier extraordinaire and is always striving to create something better each year, this Easter she doesn’t disappoint, we love this daisy themed egg!

That’s it for our chocolate egg tips and suggestions for Easter 2017. Have a great Easter!
