Coleraine student, Judith Linton, has beaten over 60 catering students from Northern Regional College to win The Fitzwilliam Hotel’s Afternoon Tea Competition. Judith created a delicate dessert of Vanilla Macaroons with Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Honeycomb Chocolate Ganache which was voted the winner by judges and will now be featured on the hotel’s Afternoon Tea menu and enjoyed by visitors of the hotel.

Afternoon Tea is one of the most triumphant dining offerings at the luxurious Fitzwilliam and by working closely with Paula McIntyre, local food connoisseur and chef lecturer at Northern Regional College, and The Fitzwilliam Hotel’s Head Chef, Michael Dargan, students were encouraged to showcase their skills and compete for their place on the menu.

Siobhan O’Sullivan, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Fitzwilliam Hotel, Belfast said: “We’re delighted to crown Judith the winner of the Afternoon Tea Competition and can’t wait to see her dish on the menu. At The Fitzwilliam Hotel, we’re all about celebrating and supporting local talent to showcase what Northern Ireland has to offer visitors to the province.”
