Stylewatch by Louise Vance
Invited fashionista’s turned out in force last week for the über stylish media launch of West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK in the chic surroundings of the Fitzwilliam Hotel!
Now in it’s sixteenth season, the launch saw the fashion conscious ladies of Northern Ireland setting the style trends, with many of the upcoming Autumn/Winter trends being worn.
Pastel pink was out in force, with both the FASHIONWEEK models and guests sporting this AW trend in style. FASHIONWEEK Director Cathy Martin was setting the style bar in a fantastic printed silk top and patent pink pencil skirt, while Aislinn Hagan worked the texture trend in a pink boucle peplum top, teamed with brocade trousers and super cute floral shoes! Gina Potter opted for a neon pink, perfectly contrasted with a pink & orange statement necklace from local jewellery designer, Melanie Bond!
Red made a strong statement in both clothing and accessories, I loved Joyce Craig’s all red look, while Christine Trueman rocked the look with a “to die for” red Vivienne Westwood bag, perfectly complimenting her layered red tops. Along with her leather jacket and leopard print shoes, every part of her ensemble was hitting the upcoming trends with stylish aplomb!
Kerrie Mann and Lori Moore looked elegant in their jackets, with Lori showing us how to work the cape into our every day wardrobe! (This is a trend to be embraced, not to shy away from ladies!)
Former Miss Ireland Rebecca Maguire was über cool and stylish in a chic monochrome play suit, perfectly accessorising the look with her fabulous python Mulberry “Bayswater”, and Louboutin spiked peep toe shoes!
Rita Lee was picture perfect in her digital print shift dress in hues of blue and aqua and I also loved her jewellery accents, especially her Links of London Sweetie XS bracelet, while Joanna Fyffe looked elegant in this season’s leopard print trend!
However my best dressed of the day has to go to model and presenter Katie Larmour! This girl never gets it wrong, and she wowed everyone in her high impact metallic floral shorts suit! With such a strong look she kept her accessories to a minimum and complemented the metallic sheen of the suit with classic Jimmy Choo shoes!
As for myself, I went for AW’s winter blues, snakeskin and texture trends in my Karen Millen snakeskin texture dress, complimenting it with metallics in the form of a statement autumnal leaf necklace from MIMCO and leather cuff also from Karen Millen!
With attendee’s every bit as stylish as the FASHIONWEEK models, I for one cannot wait to see what audience members will be wearing at this season’s shows this October, let the countdown to FASHIONWEEK commence!
