Style Watch continues on Day Two of West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK!
Day two of West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK saw fashion fans flock to the iconic Ulster Museum to check out the latest trends from the High Street, and I was there checking out the stylish looks sported by the stylish attendees!
Day one had seen some strong statement looks, and I was therefore excited to see which trends people would be favouring during day two!
Winter florals were prominent, given a welcome makeover in acid neon tones in the case of FASHIONWEEK Co-Presenter Katie Larmour, or making a statement in a cute jumpsuit as seen on Stacey Caldwell!
Jumpsuits have been increasingly popular this season with many of N.I’s fashionista’s working the trend with stylish aplomb! Lauren Penman totally rocked her red jumpsuit, which was perfectly accessorised with a statement coin charm necklace! Loved it!
Of course no FASHIONWEEK would be complete without some sparkle (I myself was in winter pink sequins on day 1) and I loved Kathryn Jess’ sequin tribal skirt! Prints are still strong, with tribal prints especially proving to be a trend that’s not disappearing anytime soon!
90’s Neon is given a style reboot for this season, with loose fitting draped tops, or neon embellishment proving popular! Kathryn Irving kept her look simple, making her yellow neon top the focal point wearing it with simple leather look leggings!
A good way of breaking up an all black look is through clever use of textures, I loved Nuala Meenehan’s black/grey ombré fur paired with black satin trousers! Laid back luxe at it’s best!
Masculine tailoring, especially the tuxe jacket always makes a strong style statement, and I loved this version worn by Lisa McKay in winter pink, giving the silhouette a distinctly feminine feel!
As mentioned yesterday, tartan is massive for both genders! Last night it was the guys, this time it was the turn of the girls and I just loved Shannon Carruthers red tartan pencil skirt! The midi length key for AW, I loved how she paired it with an elegant leather jacket! The whole ensemble decidedly chic, not a hint of tartan’s punk roots!
Crop tops are not for the faint hearted, but if you do go there keep the look simple, and pair it with high waisted skirts or trousers to keep the look modern as Danielle Robinson did! Love the choker detailing and simple stud’s on her suede ankle boots too!
Last but by no means least is Cathy Martin. As Director of FASHIONWEEK her ensembles always create maximum impact! Spotted wearing Goddess and Swift at the FASHIONWEEK AW’13 launch, she once again made it her label of choice in a stunning printed aqua silk top and patent skirt!
Day two of FASHIONWEEK was an interesting mix of trends and looks, but with Day Three featuring the Cruise Fashion Afternoon Tea event at The Merchant Hotel and the Local Designers Catwalk show, I knew the looks sported by attendees were going to be some of the best yet!
