West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK is one of THE most stylish event’s on the fashion calendar, with stylish guys and girls flocking to the iconic Ulster Museum to check out the latest AW’13 trends! Of course FASHIONWEEK is an event I never miss and I couldn’t wait to check out the stylish looks from the attendees on Day 1!!

Tartan works perfectly for both men and women, and I loved how Ben Armstrong from Cruise Clothing carried the colour hues from his beautifully cut mac and trousers and mirrored them in his tartan scarf, perfectly tying his look together!

Not of be outdone, the ever stylish Neil Cole showed guys how to do dressed down chic with a well tailored jacket (with distinctive pocket piping) and jeans, while Claire Craig made accessories the focus of her ensemble with an enviable pair of nude pigalle spikes Christian Louboutin shoes carrying their colour through in her stacked bracelets!

Leather remained a strong trend amongst attendees, with the stunning Rachel Matthews seriously working a pair of hot leather trousers, and chic lace top, while designer Gráinne Maher showed us all how effortless a well cut leather pencil skirt looks! Combined with her neon snakeprint top and her Pluck & Devour “Griffin” pendant, the look retained an edgy but chic feel! Emma Deightan’s laser cut leather skirt worked perfectly with her gorgeous Chloe statement handbag and I loved the colour pop of burgundy from her beautiful suede boots!

The monochrome look is timeless, and will always look great! Barbara Neeson worked it like a pro, her cropped jacket sporting leather trim on it’s exposed zip! A great look all round!

Fur works so well for this time of year, and depending on how it’s worn can create a super glam or edgy look! Jemma Cousins opted for a fun and funky look which was a total winner in my books! A cute and sassy cropped fur jacket paired with long leather gloves, leopard print shorts and croc boots, created a true statement look! Love it!!

Of course FASHIONWEEK is all about creating a statement, and no Style Watch piece is complete without FASHIONWEEK Director, Cathy Martin! Cathy is a lady who loves fashion and isn’t afraid to push the boundaries! I simply adored her take on the metallic trend pairing an electric blue metallic skirt with designer Riona Treacy’s eye catching quilted metallic top! The look completed with one of Gráinne Maher’s perspex feather headpieces!

FASHIONWEEK Co-Host Katie Larmour, went for lace and a vintage feel with a super cute pink prom style lace dress, nipping in her waist with a stunning gold metallic leather belt from the fab Una Rodden, and finishing the look with gorgeous Valentino heels! You just can’t beat designer shoes!!

Accessories were key in Jade Topping’s ensemble, giving her on trend red dress a style twist with designer Melanie Bond’s covetable statement jewellery! While Melanie Bond herself hit all the right style notes in a fabulous yellow dress with geometric lace detailing, and another of her stunning creations!

Patterned trousers is a trend that will always turn heads, and Lucy Ellen showed us how to work the look with style! I love how she kept the rest of her look clean and uncluttered while adding a pop of red in her cropped jacket, sandals and even her manicure! She totally rocked it!

Last but certainly not least was Ruth Maguire, who opted for a midi length flared skirt, as seen from Dior and Prada! I loved the colour pop of colbalt blue, and her bejewelled pendant!

With such fabulous style on display on Day 1 of FASHIONWEEK, I couldn’t wait to see what looks would be seen on Day 2!! So don’t forget to check back here to see my top picks, as Style Watch is checking out all the stylish looks from all the FASHIONWEEK events!
