Day 3 of West Coast Cooler Belfast FASHIONWEEK was a jam packed, fashion fuelled day, from the super stylish Sushi Saturday event to a myriad of catwalk shows, including the 50 over 50 Age NI catwalk, the Sunday Life COVERGIRL competition with Victoria Square and WCC’s official blogger Vickie Doherty’s favourite looks from the High Street!
However it was the Fashion and Retail Awards that acted as the high point of the evening, celebrating the immense fashion talent we have here in Northern Ireland! Of course Style Watch was there (as a certain Miss Vance was lucky enough to make the shortlist for Blogger/Social Media Personality *squeal*!) and to report back to you all my top looks from the big night!
Colour is massive for SS’16 with orange being THE colour of the season, and I loved how Alana Carr went all out in orange from top to toe in this stunning jumpsuit, finished off with a delicate necklace and super cute anklet.
Yellow has continued to remain popular and I loved Eileen Curran’s fun and sunny yellow top, proving how effective it can be to contrast primary hues with black. While her fur snood added a wonderful luxe feel to her ensemble.
Funky and edgy looks were dominant on the night, with award winning make up artist Stevey Lennox rocking an all black ensemble perfectly finished off with a hint of bling from her statement necklace and flawless make up!
Statement jewellery was a massive trend, with guests opting for dramatic pieces, I especially loved Lauryn Hall’s stunning “Gypsy Cape” chain from local designer Bohemian Vixen paired with an elegant Grecian style dip dyed dress by designer Nor Lisa topped off with a super cute feathered clutch bag.
Sarah McCammon also rocked a fabulous sliver chain cape complimenting her fabulous silver grey hair! Her look was cool, funky and totally on trend from her crop top to lace overlay skirt. While John Meighan proved that it’s not just the ladies that can have fun with fashion!
Not to be outdone by the ladies there were lots of super stylish men in attendance, Chris Suitor and Mark Brown were every bit the dapper gents, and I especially loved Chris’ use of accessories from the pop of colour in his flower pin and pocket square to the warm hues of brown in his watch strap and brogues, showing how a few well placed accessories can really finish off a look!
Caolan Woods and Steven Simpson both opted for summery blue hues, Caolan’s playful mix of textures injected a welcome point of interest to a chic and casual look, while Steven opted for beautiful tailoring and luxe jeans, focusing on the interplay of sandy hues and ocean blues to create an effortlessly chic look.
Kelly White was every bit the modern Scarlet O’Hara in a breathtaking lace and ruby silk dress by designer Ruedi Maguire, who also looked fashion fabulous rocking velvet and his signature sparkle! Paul O’Hare was as always the epitome of style, with his love of tailoring and design clearly evident in his choice of ensemble!
Trouser suits were a popular trend amongst guests, with official West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK blogger Vickie Doherty opting for this season’s hottest take on the look: pyjama wear! This can be a tricky look to pull off but Vickie got it totally right, opting for a gorgeous belted version from Zara in classic monochrome, finished off with killer heels and a funky clutch bag.
Speaking of funky bags, how much are we loving Lisa McCabe’s starship rocket bag! Such a super cute design which perfectly complimented her stunning blue and silver skater dress topped off with a simple statement collar necklace, this has to be one of my favourite looks on Lisa this FASHIONWEEK.
Day three proved to be a real fashion hit, with attendees going all out in their fashion choices proving once again just how stylish and knowledgable we are when it comes to true individual style.
