We all dream of a magical fairytale wedding, and last weekend fashionistas and brides to be came together in the sumptuous surroundings of the Rita Duffy Suite in The Merchant Hotel for a very special fashion showcase organised by Blush Boutique on the Lisburn Road.
The Rita Duffy Suite was transformed into a bridal wonderland with the stunning 2014 wedding dress collection from world-renowned designer Ian Stuart while guest’s feasted on the Merchant’s delectable Afternoon Tea.
Guests opted for relaxed, dressed down day looks, with black acting as the predominant colour.
Claire Lambe worked a classic LBD wrap dress, accessorising it with a fab fringed leather clutch! While Louise Corrigan opted for a simple black chiffon blouse and classic nude and black shoes. Newly engaged Katie Larmour went for a simple, chic black dress given a monochrome feel with a white Peter Pan collar, and finished the look perfectly with her fabulous nude studded shoes and bag by Valentino.
Rich, berry and wine tones were also popular, Particia Dorrity’s wine dress looked fabulous with a statement necklace and a butter soft, black leather embellished jacket! Sarah Jayne Cassells also worked the leather trend with a leather mini skirt, complimented with a Chanel style tweed jacket in hues of berry and red, finished with a pop of red in her ankle boots.
While Blush owner Alieen Wilson was spotted in a fabulous wine midi length dress with edgy zip detailing! Man of the hour, Designer Ian Stuart looked very dapper in a pinstriped waistcoat and matching jacket, given a casual edge paired with dark indigo jeans.
One of my favourite looks of the day came from Nicola Ward, who wore a fabulous body con bandage dress, (a favourite dress style of mine) in muted grey tones which she paired with a simple black tux jacket and her fabulous Mulberry “Daria” clutch! What can I say, I do love my designer handbags.
Last but not least patterns and animal prints were also seen on the day, with Aimee Miller donning a true statement coat in striking leopard print, and Florence Thompson sporting a tropical print tunic in feminine hues of pinks, purples and peaches.
A fabulous afternoon filled with stunning bridal wear, it was certainly an afternoon for the stylish guests to remember.
