SS Nomadic Fun Day

20130822-211733.jpgNorthern Ireland’s newest visitor attraction – the SS Nomadic – is hosting a family fun day and barbeque on Bank Holiday Monday 26th August!

Nomadic has lots of activities for children including the Crew Interactive area where visitors can steer the ship into port, and try on Crew uniforms. Activities on the day will also include face painting, balloon modelling, arts and crafts and a kids disco. Miss Shell, the Singing Mermaid, and Nomadic’s Captain Boitard will also be on board!

The barbeque will be provided by the renowned Posh Nosh.
Visitors can experience first hand what it was like to be a passenger boarding Titanic on her fateful maiden voyage.

Also, find out about some of the extra-ordinary journeys that the Nomadic passengers embarked upon and Nomadic’s wartime service as a minesweeper and troop carrier.

Nestled inside the lower deck, feel the steel and examine the rivets close up and learn about the years she spent in Paris as a restaurant and nightclub, how she was eventually returned to Belfast and the challenges the project team faced to restore her to the original 1911 condition.

Visitors can access the ship and dockside from 10am, and the family fun and barbeque will begin at 12 noon. Tickets for the ship, dock and barbeque are £12 for adults and £7 for children. To order tickets go online to www.nomadicbelfast.com or telephone 028 90737860.
