SpaceCRAFT – A craft collective

Today’s adventures around the City centre took me to a place I didn’t even know existed and into SpaceCRAFT. I just went up the escalator of the Fountain Centre to have a look around and there it was, a treasure trove of local craft. It’s a shop, it’s an exhibition area and it’s a gallery, and it’s got some of the finest handmade craft in the City centre. The army of Artists/Designers and Makers working in Craft Disciplines in Northern Ireland continues to amaze me and it’s that kind of local enterprising which needs promoted and encouraged not just to those ‘in the know’ but to the wider population. We are afterall, all for supporting our local economy and the ongoing promotion of local skills and talent.

I walked into SpaceCRAFT and just felt excited, as spread out before my eyes was an endless supply of gifts for all occasions, from the coolest little gift cards to some amazing larger pieces of art. So if you want some gift inspiration for your family and friends, or even me for that matter, please call in and support local.

For more information check the Craft & Design Collective website or even better, go up the escalator of the Fountain Centre and turn left.

Love SpaceCraft! Send our Bespoke Belfast customers there on their wanders around our city. You need to go when the Art students from our Uni’s have their end of course final exhibition stuff there – now that’s a real display of young talent.
