A year ago, Rihanna whipped Belfast and North Down into a frenzy as she recorded ‘that’ video in a Bangor field, and then in the streets of Belfast. Not long after that, Belfast hit world headlines, as the MTV music awards rocked into town and changed our wee city just a little bit.
With MTV events all around the City centre including the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in the Ulster Hall, Snow Patrol at the City Hall and the main event in the Odyssey, it was a huge weekend for Belfast.
Now, one year on, you can relive one of the most memorable moments of Belfast Music Week and the MTV EMAs with a free screening of Snow Patrol’s City Hall gig on the big screen.
The concert – held against the iconic backdrop of City Hall and beamed to a global audience of 1.2 billion – is already part of musical history, going down as one of the most impressive events Belfast has ever hosted.
The free screening, on the evening of November 9, is part of this year’s Belfast Music Week which is back bigger and better than ever with more than 250 events taking part across the city between November 4 and 11.
This year’s Belfast Music Week programme has something for everyone and one of the highlights will definitely be the screening of Snow Patrol’s MTV show when we’ll all be able to relive last year’s amazing concert.
Belfast Music Week is organised by Belfast City Council and this year is being co-ordinated by the Oh Yeah music centre.
