Sabrina’s style: IN! Magazine VIP Reader Event

Last week IN! Magazine teamed up with House of Fraser Belfast to bring their readers a VIP shopping experience. number of leading beauty brands, including Dior, Estee Lauder and Benefit Cosmetics, offered exclusive discounts as customers shopped and sipped on bubbly, all while the City of Belfast Youth Orchestra provided the soundtrack for the evening.

A number of brands went above and beyond to offer customers exclusive treatments and pamper sessions.  Jo Malone were providing arm and hand massages using their new collection ‘Blue Skies and Blossoms’ while customers sipped on champagne and nibbled on mini chocolates.

During IN! Magazines VIP reader event I went along to Aveda for a hair consultation using their unique scalp camera. If you want products that are not only going to help your hair but also help the environment look no further than AVEDA. Not only are all their products made with natural ingredients and vegan friendly, which being a vegetarian and animal lover gets a massive thumbs up from me, but they are also the first beauty company manufacturing with 100% certified wind power. On the night I was welcomed   with a cup of Aveda’s organic (of course) comforting tea and a peppermint oil treatment guaranteed to heighten your senses and make you feel immediately relaxedThe scalp camera is an amazing piece of technology which takes photos of your scalp and hair follicles magnified by 40 times to show you exactly what is going on with your hair.  No more wasting time or money on shampoos, conditioners or hair products that aren’t doing what you need. I always thought my hair was thin and greasy, when the reality is its just flat and lifeless due to oils my body is producing due to dehydration!

Of course I immediately purchased Invati exfoliating shampoo which is designed to cleanse and renew the scalp clearing any oils causing blockage. I also purchased the thickening conditioner which uses Arginine derived from sugar beets and soy protein to restore strength and improve hair elasticity, reducing breakage.

The whole experience was educational, the staff were welcoming and it certainly beats purchasing standard hair products in the local chemist. I’m now excited to try my new hair products and for hopefully noticeable results within the next few weeks!

To top of a fantastic evening Destination Skin invited me for a Microdermabrasion facial, which is not as terrifying as it sounds. It’s actually a complete pain free, non-surgical treatment that uses tiny rough grains to buff away the top layer of your skin which is then immediately vacuumed away. This treatment reveals new living cells leaving you with a healthy glow. The epidermal layers of the skin are rejuvenated leading to collagen production and plumper skin. To finish the treatment you receive the most amazing Vitamin C face peel that instantly hydrates your skin. This is a perfect treatment for anyone who would like to improve fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, congested skin, open pores or just for those who would like a new anti-ageing treatment that actually works. Although a course of the microdermabrasion facials is recommended for effective lasting results I noticed the difference immediately.  My skin was brighter, my pores less visible and my skin was ridiculously soft.  So much so I’ve already booked in for my next microdermabrasion facial!  After the treatment you are still reaping in the benefits, within 24 hours my skin was clear and spot free and without the stratum corneum (the top layer of skin) acting as a barrier, creams and lotions are more effective because more of their active ingredients and moisture can find their way down to the lower layers of skin. All win if you ask me!

The IN! Magazine VIP reader event was a glamourous way to learn about new companies, products and treatments  and a fantastic way for IN! Magazine to say thank you to all their loyal readers.
