Royal visitors to attend special market at St George’s this Tuesday

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have included a visit to our weekend place of work/fun, St George’s Market, during their Belfast schedule this Tuesday, 24 June.

The royal couple will call in at a special one-off St George’s market celebrating the ‘Best of Belfast’.

Open to the public, the market will have free admission and will run from 10am to 3pm. It will showcase the best of local produce, speciality foods, clothes, arts and crafts.

Stalls will be a combination of those usually on site during the Friday, Saturday and Sunday markets at the award winning Oxford Street venue. And we’ll be there with our newly crowned best presented stall!!

The special market on Tuesday is being held to celebrate St George’s recently winning the UK’s Best Large Indoor Market 2014. The Belfast site beat off stiff competition from internationally renowned markets such as Spitalfields, Billingsgate and Borough.

Following the visit to St George’s, the royals will make their way to City Hall for a lunch where guests will include representatives from communities and organisations across Belfast.
