Polo in the City 2013

20130531-181153.jpgThe style stakes will be high as Polo In The City returns to Belfast for a third consecutive year, raising funds for Mencap in Northern Ireland. This exciting fast paced sporting and social event will take place once again at Lower Botanic Playing Fields, Stranmillis Embankment on Saturday 31st August.

Members of the Northern Ireland Polo Club will join players from as far away as Argentina to battle each other in a series of super-charged games. The exhilarating matches will be fast and furious making for an exciting spectator experience as the players vie to lift the Polo In The City 2013 cup.

The on field action will be paired with a range of exciting hospitality and entertainment experiences. A number of elegant marquees will be on offer including the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Marquee, one of the hottest spots on the ground.

Spectators will be able to relax as they sip champagne, cocktails and refreshing Asahi beer in opulent surroundings with spectacular views right across the polo pitch. As the sun sets a gourmet barbeque will be served and a lively onsite post polo party will commence.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than before with new additions including The Oasis Travel Celebrity Cruises Cocktail Boutique. This new addition, complete with luxury cruise liner inspired interior, will transport guests to the realms of the Caribbean. Seated in comfortable and luxurious surroundings, guests will absorb the nautical ambience while sipping freshly mixed cocktails inspired by the ocean and exotic travel destinations. Citybeat radio will broadcast live from the edge of the field reporting on all the day’s action.

House of Fraser Belfast will add to the wardrobes of both Best Dressed Female and Best Dressed Male on the day. The winners will both receive incredible prize packages to the value of £1,500 each. In addition, one lucky luxury prize draw winner will also ride off with a fabulous prize worth £3,000 provided by the store.

The core reason behind the event is to raise money for Northern Ireland’s leading disability charity, Mencap.

Tickets for the event are £65.00 and are available at mencap.org.uk/polointhecity.
