Pizza express celebrates Belfast expansion with #ThePizzaExpress
When your favourite Pizza place puts on a launch event like no other, and you have the best night out in ages.
To celebrate the opening of two new Belfast restaurants, Pizza Express took inspiration from Deanes and put on a bus to transport us between their Bedford St site, to their new places in Ballyhackamore then St Anne’s Square.
With appetisers and prosecco to start us off, we hopped on The Pizza Express (McCombs coach) to The Hack for the pizza bit. The new Ballyhack restaurant is something else. Themed on C.S.Lewis and Narnia with wardrobe doors covering walls, snowflake tiles in the open plan kitchen and a C.S.Lewis literary wall, this new addition to the chain is probably my favourite Pizza Express ever. All it needs is Aslan somewhere? But maybe he was behind the wardrobe doors waiting on us.
The pizza as always was the best, and our big surprise was the delicious gluten free option making an appearance, one we definitely recommend. There was a continuous flow of food coming out of the kitchen, it reminded us of the final stop on the fabulous Belfast Food Tour. It was endless! Now that’s how to keep a bus load of press and bloggers happy.
The Ballyhack restaurant opens on Friday 9th September.
Next stop on The Pizza Express was to their new St Anne’s Square restaurant for dessert. And when we turned the corner and looked in the windows, a counter of desserts awaited us. Emer couldn’t contain her excitement!
Again the food and drink flowed.
Members of the Ulster Youth Orchestra provided the music while the awesome staff brought the continuous supply of drinks and delicious Pizza Express desserts.
What a launch night, and what an idea for the Belfast Pizza Express restaurants. Don’t just have The Pizza Express bus for a launch event, make it a regular tour because we all loved it!!!
