Well, the Belfast IKEA store have sponsored our Christmas decorations at our stall and they want you to have some free gifts!
Part of this giveaway for me is to help promote this great campaign, the annual Soft Toys for Education Campaign.
It’s a chance for shoppers to not only give a child a toy and a smile in Northern Ireland, but also give children access to education around the world.
For every soft toy purchased in store, The IKEA Foundation will donate €1 to educational projects run by UNICEF and Save the Children around the world.
Also, in Belfast, if a shopper picks up an extra soft toy, it can be donated to the ‘Give Twice’ boxes at the checkouts where it will be lovingly received by Simon Community, and given to children experiencing homelessness in the run up to Christmas.
This year the campaign aims to raise €700,000 in the UK & Ireland, to add to a global total of €67 million raised since it began in 2003, supporting more than 11 million children through 99 projects in 46 different countries.
The soft toys range starts from just 80p for the GULLEPLUTT finger puppets.
So what’s the giveaway?
I have a few of these toys to give away this weekend at the market to some lucky kids.
I’m personally going to go to the IKEA Belfast store, and fill a trolly with toys, half of which will go into the Simon Community Give Twice box and the other half will be taken to the CoolFM/Little Wing Pizza mission for Christmas campaign. What would be great would be if you have any spare cash you could head to the IKEA Belfast store and help give a child a smile on Christmas Day. Or if you can, maybe check out the CoolFM campaign and leave in some gifts so a few more children can open a gift on Christmas Day and smile.
