Our first ever @belfashionweek thanks to @menarysonline

Menarys featured in the first Belfast FASHIONWEEK event we had ever been to. It was no coincidence that happened as we have a close connection with the company, in fact, one of us buys their handbags and accessories.

20131007-081405.jpgA few weeks ago we popped into the Bangor store to join in their 90th anniversary celebrations, 90 years of style.

Menarys has changed considerably over the last few years and they now stock a fantastic range of handbags and accessories (I have to say that!), but seriously though, you won’t find a better bag selection in a locally owned shop. It’s current, on trend and great value with a great choice of labels including GUESS, DESIGUAL, FOSSIL and FIORELLI and much more.

Let’s not forget about their sister company Tempest who have a new department. Project T, with an even younger and fresher selection of bags, accessories and shoes, including Lipsy, Dolcis, Disaster Designs and Nica.

It’s not all for the ladies though as the company have reintroduced menswear. And Tempest has Jack & Jones, Bench and Duck & Cover while Menarys has SELECTED menswear, Weird Fish and Espirit.

The SELECTED range is very new to Menarys and when we visited, the new season was continuing to arrive in the Bangor and Lisburn stores. It’s a great range for the guy who doesn’t have to be on trend. It’s smart, casual and great quality and the pieces are perfect for that capsule wardrobe.

I ended up selecting a blue cotton Nevada split crew neck with wooden effect button detailing along the left shoulder. It’s a great fitted jumper and feels soft and comfortable. The blue will work well with jeans and a pair of winter boots. I’ll be adding a touch of European styling with coloured laces and the obligatory man bag. And if it gets too cold, the Marks and Spencer quilted jacket I got at the end of last Winter will be perfect over it!

Looks like I’m on the way to being Winter ready!

Ps We spotted coloured laces in a blog post by our Copenhagen blog pal www.cphblonde.com and then on a recent trip to Palma, bought a selection of shoe laces.
