Stephen Clements, presenter of Citybeat’s Breakfast Show, who helped to launch the campaign with his daughter, Poppy, said:  “Adventureland Weekend is a wonderful way for people to get out and about in Northern Ireland with their mates or family to experience an outdoor activity they might never have tried before. It’s all about having fun and it doesn’t matter what age you are or what your ability level is as there are activities to suit all ages and abilities.”

Sheena Dickson from Tourism NI commented:  “Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend events have been chosen to ensure they appeal to a wide spectrum of people and ages.  Families can try their hand at a number of different outdoor activities, including climbing in Belfast to sea safaris on the North Coast as well as canoeing in Castlewellan Forest Park and surfing at Portstewart Strand.  So make sure to get online and check out what’s available in your area.

“The weekend is also the perfect opportunity to try out some more unusual activities.  Groups of friends and couples can enjoy energetic wake-boarding with the iconic Titanic Belfast building as their backdrop, sea kayaking on stunning Strangford Lough, wet bouldering in the atmospheric Mournes or experience the excitement of mountain biking just outside Cookstown.” concluded Sheena.

Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend has been organised by Tourism Northern Ireland and OutdoorNI as a fun way of encouraging people of all ages and abilities to try the many outdoor activities available across Northern Ireland at a lower cost.

Beverley Pierson from Outdoor NI, said:  “We are looking forward to a busy weekend on the 28 and 29 of March and would advise people to get in early and book online now.

“If you’ve ever wanted to try a new outdoor activity there are numerous taster sessions to choose from or if you just want to spend some quality time with your family outdoors you’ll be spoilt for choice”, concluded Beverley.
