Introducing Louise Vance..,
One of the perks of my life is that I get to attend some amazing fashion events and as a consequence I’ve been lucky enough to find myself in front of many a photographer’s lens being snapped for best dressed competitions as well as various style spotter sections! However last night the roles were reversed as “The Real Elle Woods” (my fashion/lifestyle blog) became judge for the night as I had the privilege of choosing the “Best Dressed” Female and Male at Alexandra Godfrey’s Fashion and Entertainment Evening in aid of TinyLife!! In fact it’s as a result of that I was very kindly asked to write this article for Belfast Times of my favourite stylish looks of the night!!
Scanning the crowd I found there was an eclectic choice of style, with some choosing relatively casual looks and dressing them up with stylish accessories, or others such as “Sequin Cinderella” Blogger Nicola McLaughlin going for all out glamour in a stunning full length leopard print silk dress! For a labels girl such as myself there was some serious arm candy on display in the form of Nicola McLaughlin sporting a fabulous Hermes “Collier de Chien” cuff and Louis Vuitton “Limelight” clutch, Victoria Squance and her classic Chanel 2:55 quilted bag, and Fiona McCarroll’s Mulberry “Daria”! It was great to see some of this season’s Spring Summer trends being worn despite the cold temperature, and Victoria Squance looked amazing in this season’s monochrome look!!
However she was pipped at the post on the night by worthy winner Fiona McCarroll!! I am a massive fan of understated chic, effortless style achieved with a few key statement pieces! I spotted her herringbone print pony skin trench style coat from across the room, and combined with a pair of leather skinny trousers and statement “Daria” bag from Mulberry her outfit was simply perfect!!
When it came to the men, we had some worthy contenders, most sticking to perfectly cut suits such as Clarke Godfrey or a more relaxed style with a statement shirt and jeans! In fact Jeff from our very own Belfast Times was one of the contenders for the crown!! However at the end of the night, there was one stand out look from the males, and that was in the form of Tony Webster (Big Bad Lama). With his aztec print trousers, owl necklace and cap, combined with vintage “Empire Strikes Back” tee, he really made the look his own, and was definitely my “Best Dressed” on the night!
I hope you enjoy browsing through the photographs of my best dressed contenders, and remember to keep an eye out for me as I shall be checking out people’s style on behalf of Belfast Times at many more future events!
