Seven lifeguards from Olympia Leisure Centre, Belfast, were nominated in the category following an outstanding rescue last May, in which they saved the life of a young local club swimmer who suffered a cardiac arrest during an underwater training exercise in the pool.

Chairman of the Parks and Leisure Committee, Councillor Gareth McKee congratulated staff on being nominated for the prestigious award.
