Jessie J, Katy B and Joe McElderry

They sang, they screamed and they were of course the very young crowd who came along to welcome Jessie J to her first Belfast gig in the Mandela Hall.
This girl has stage presence by the bucket load, and a killer figure as well might I add! She arrived on stage in a pair of impossibly high sparkling gold heels and danced and jumped her way through the superb gig.
It was refreshing to see an artist so down to earth and one who connected with her fans and made fun of herself and had a laugh and looked and sounded A-Mazing! Unfortunately Belfast was the last date on her UK tour, but as the tour was announced before Jessie went mainstream, we keep our fingers crossed for a second tour later in the year.
The audience were very loud and looked like they enjoyed every minute of it, but hidden in the audience, standing about 5 foot beside us was Joe McElderry, fresh from the Lisburn Mayors Carnival Parade. The night wouldn’t be complete without stalking Joe for a photo, which we are very grateful for. Thanks Joe!
When Jessie J was finished we headed down to the Stiff Kitten to see Katy B. Katy performed all her hits and tracks from her fantastic album, which just entered the UK charts today at number 2 with her ‘On a Mission’ album. Belfast was the first night of Katys solo UK tour and obviously we gave her the traditional warm Belfast welcome.
It was a busy night for us, but we ended it by strolling over to the Radisson Hotel at the gasworks for a great nights sleep. But the thought of paying £17 for breakfast meant we headed over to our last weekend hotel, the Premier Inn, for a delicious £8 cooked breakfast feast. After all, we do like doing things as cheaply as we can. It’s a recession!
