It’s a bit decadent I know, but a weekend in Ibiza was called for to recharge the batteries and have a party!
Last Thursday, we hopped on a flight and 3 hours later arrived in the Mediterranean party island.
The real reason behind the trip was to satisfy our pop needs to see Kylie perform (don’t judge me!!) at the Ushuaia Hotel in ‘Bossa’.
The concert was free to Hard Rock Hotel guests. The very newly opened Hard Rock Hotel is their first in Europe and encourages guests to live the rock star life. So of course..late night room parties, club music by the pool, luxury Michelin star meals and afternoons in the spa had to happen. Thank goodness no TV’s were thrown about!
The 5 star Hard Rock definitely rocked our world but a highlight was the Kylie concert in the Ushuaia Hotel next door. After a huge warm up by the one and only Pete Tong, we got into the middle of the crowd for the pop concert of the year. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd in a collective fantastic holiday party mood welcomed Kylie Minogue. Does she ever really need to use the surname any more…just Kylie is sufficient I think.
After a loud room party with some new Dublin friends, the next day was recovery day in the sun, finished off with the BIG treat rock star standard meal out.
The hotel tapas restaurant, Estado Puro by Paco Roncero, was a gem. I’ve never had tapas like it in my life, it was exquisite and the most divine meal I’ve ever had…end of. But to top it all, there was clearly something happening amongst the restaurant manager and other senior hotel management. After 15 minutes of staff rearranging tables and making sure everything looked perfect, Kylie is ushered in with her manager and a friend and is seated at a table just feet away from us!! Oh my word! KYLIE…is that my street cred out the window?
But wow wow wow!
Hard Rock Hotel certainly lived up to the rock star hype and we want more more more.
P.S. After the fun Chic concert at Belsonic last week on Tuesday followed by Kylie, it was definitely pop week…this coming week is very different, I promise!
