So this is it, its Twenty Twelve and today is the first day back at work for most of us, Belfast Times included, and what a stormy day it is as well.
I guess saying Happy New Year is still appropriate on the 3rd Jan, so here goes…..Happy New Year! How many resolutions have you broken already?
It’s a big year ahead for us at Belfast Times, not only with all the big events going on in the City, but we have our permanent stall at St Georges Market now on a Sunday, so we’ll be there rain or shine. Please call in and say ‘Hi’. Then all being well, we have an exhibition at the Wickerman on Belfast’s High Street in April, so a fair bit of design work needs to be done for that. And quickly!
We’ve also been working on a completely new design for our postcards and they will be bigger and better than ever before.
I see you’ve all been enjoying the competitions lately and they’ve been fun for us as well!! We have a few more being added over the next few weeks including a VIP night at El Divino and a meal for 2 at Hill St Brasserie, but for this week, it’s the Golden Ticket for Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory, so make sure you enter, it closes on Friday 6th Jan.
2012 should be Belfast and Northern Ireland’s year with some big events taking place including MTV coming back for a huge concert on the Titanic slipway (rumoured dates, 12th & 13th April), there will be the much heralded opening of Titanic Belfast and the opening of the MAC Belfast and a bit further up the road will be the new Giants Causeway Visitors Centre.
The big event will be (along with the opening of the fantastic Titanic Belfast) the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic being built, launched and sinking. Expect a Titanic onslaught from everywhere, and expect us to be in the middle of it all in 2012.
Have a great New Year and 2012
