Gradam Ceoil comes to Belfast for the first time

TG4’s Gradam Ceoil comes to the Belfast Waterfront on Sunday 4th February 2018 for the first time in its 21-year history.

Known as the Oscars of traditional music, the live concert and award ceremony features the crème de la crème of Irish music and song, celebrating the talent and achievements of musicians from Ireland and across the world. Featuring world-class traditional music talent from De Dannan’s Frankie Gavin to World Champions, the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band and many more, the live concert will be broadcast on TG4 and worldwide on, adding to the buzz and the atmosphere of the event.

Big names including actor, Stephen Rea and Matt Molloy from The Chieftains have been announced as part of the line-up for TG4’s traditional Irish Music Awards, Gradam Ceoil, which take place at the Belfast Waterfront on Sunday 4th February, 2018.

As awards season hots up, Gradam Ceoil gives local music fans a chance to experience the thrill and excitement of a live televised awards show complete with spine-tingling live performances, right here in Belfast.

The concert will include live performances from TG4 Gradam Ceoil 2018 recipients:

• Musician of the Year: Frankie Gavin

• Young Musician of the Year: Clare Friel

• Lifetime Achievement Award: Patsy Hanly

• Singer of the Year: Máire Ní Chéileachair

• Special Contribution Award: Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin

• Musical Collaboration: CONCERT created by Colin Dunne with Sinéad Rushe and Mel Mercier

• Special Award: The Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band
