Getting fit for Summer at the Culloden

20140514-183342.jpgSince starting Belfast Times both as a blog and a stall at St George’s Market, any form of exercise has been a challenge to fit in. In the last few years my getting fit regime has taken many fits and starts as I continue to try to find my fitness mojo again. Personal trainers, gyms, crossfit and back garden training have come and gone and the mojo just never returns for longer than a few months. I really love exercising and to be honest, need it in my life for good mental and physical health. In truth, a lot of us could do with having a more active lifestyle, but the effort involved just seems too much sometimes, doesn’t it?

Then you read about people in their 70’s, 80’s and 90’s who can high jump, run marathons, are body builders or climb mountains and they inspire and amaze!

Last week I watched a video about this lady who started body building late in life and I immediately felt inspired and that I should try again. And right on cue, as if it was just meant to be, in steps the Culloden two month summer membership. (Also available at Slieve Donard)

And so it begins again and it couldn’t be handier as Cultra train halt is on my route home from Belfast after a days work, and as I’ve said in previous posts, it’s right at the back entrance to Culloden Estate.

I’m going to kick off this new regime with a personal training session to set some goals and then you can follow my latest fitness challenge every week with photos and updates from various posts and tweets, but also on my social fitness wall here.

For £200 (saving over £100!) you’ll get an 8-week membership PLUS the choice of either one 55-minute spa treatment or two half-hour personal training sessions.
