Thursday night was the first fashion show of Belfast FASHIONWEEK and it was also the first ever George at Asda fashion show. It was an access all areas night for me as I was the roving instagram snapper and tweeter on the night.
The Ulster Museum is a fabulous location for Belfast FASHIONWEEK and it looked amazing. Guests enjoyed glasses of West Coast Cooler on arrival before getting their moment on camera in front of the glamorous pink backdrop. Everyone relaxed and made their way to the seats for a night of thumping beats, models and George. There wasn’t a hint of Asda green in sight, it was all about George and the fashionable clothes.
Backstage it was relatively calm, the makeup and hair was done, the clothes rails were all prepared and Cathy Martin held her pre show brief. Have fun and smile!
And the show began.
The styling team at George checked every piece before it hit the catwalk, it all had to look perfect. I was told some of the clothes were currently available in store, but other items were brand new and wouldn’t be in store for another few months. Everything is scheduled and planned for the year already, but in case there is a surprise fashion moment, the company are prepared with a 6 week turn around option from design to stores.
The audience reaction was a big thumbs up for George and the models backstage loved the clothes. It looks like the 10% discount voucher we all got will be put to good use!
I’ll be backstage again tonight (Saturday) for the High Street show, so get over to my twitter and instagram accounts at belfasttimes and follow what’s going on backstage at the biggest fashion event of the Spring. (yes, its apparently Spring!!)
