Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn’t that what they say? But being a girl who has several shelves of make-up, lotions and potions it appears that my brain can’t seem to comprehend this fact. Seems like I’m not the only one, as the beauty industry is worth approx £17 million to the UK economy – hmmm that’s a lot of lippies!
Being a marketing person’s dream, I have no problem spending a fortune on the next must-have product, but with so many out there it hard to know what the next big thing is… Thankfully one of my best friends, Noelle McCrory is a make-up expert and with a motto of ‘make-up is only needed to create a better version of yourself’, she never makes me feel OTT.
Noelle has more than 10 years experience in bridal, editorial, commercial and special occasion make-up. Although she is based in Dublin she travels all over for weddings and if you are down in the city you can book in with her in MAC, Brown Thomas – she’s the 6ft blonde bombshell from Omagh so you can’t miss her 🙂
Don’t get me wrong, she’s not just a pretty face and has worked as an image trainer for corporate companies and a confidence coach for younger girls, teaching them the basics of make-up but with confidence and self-esteem tips to boot. Oh did I mention Noelle is also a Life Coach and Reiki instructor? So after a make-up session with her you come out looking and feeling like a million dollars! She is brilliant on work/men/friends – she’s had to listen to enough tales of woe from me over the years!
With the new season approaching I asked her for a few of her favourite products to give you GSpotters! some ideas you can try at home. Here is some advice from the woman herself….
- YSL All in One BB Cream: This enhances each skintone, thanks to specifically adapted benefits. For a sophisticated make-up result, use before foundation. For a natural make-up result, use alone. Warm a small amount of product between your hands and apply it on the face by spreading it as much as possible to blend perfectly.
- MAC Hush: This is my super product and I should have shares in the company with the amount I buy. Being a cream based product means that imparts colour, gives a sheer dewy finish and an instant radiance to all skin types. It would have to be my desert island product, – when I’m stranded on an island and the search party comes looking, they will see my skin the glow of my highlighted skin reflecting to the sky!
- Elave Cleanser: I know it’s a cliche, but beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin! I massage it on to my skin after I have cleansed as you can’t use this product on your eyes. The glycolic acid gently exfoliates and you take it off with a wet cotton pad. It is like a mini facial and your face will be brighter, clearer and plumper – just what every women over the age of 30 wants to hear!
Hopefully there are a few things here that have inspired you, but if you need some extra help get in touch with Noelle @NoelleMcCrory on Twitter or NoelleMcCroryMakeUp on Instagram. Stay beautiful!
