The Hilton is located close to Central Station so it could be the perfect spot if you are coming into Belfast to enjoy a bit of shopping, sightseeing or getting together with friends. As the events are monthly it’s better to book in advance as they seem to be in popular demand. Upcoming events are on Saturday 27th February with Afternoon Tea and bubbles- Relaxing music with resident pianist and on 6th March- Mothers Day Afternoon Tea with live music with celebrated Harpist, Caoimhe Ní Chorráin. Sounds delightful and if your mum is anything like mine, she will love to relax and get pampered – especially when scones are somewhere in the mix!
What’s not to love about afternoon teas? The perfectly cut finger sandwiches, cakes that oh so handily fit into your mouth in one fail swoop and of course having someone to do the dishes! It feels like everywhere has it on the menu, but my thoughts are – if it ain’t broke why fix it, right?
Well the latest place to jump on the cake-tierred band wagon is the Hilton Belfast, as it recently launched its monthly afternoon tea events in its Sonoma Restaurant overlooking the Lagan.
These events will run on the last Saturday of every month and will include fashion shows, jazz, harpists and funky pianists to keep you entertained when you relax and enjoy some ‘me time’. The first event was completely sold out, so it looks like the ladies of Belfast still can’t get enough of cucumber and smoked salmon sarnies!
The events are priced at a reasonably £19.50 per person and will offer a selection of teas and coffee and a glass of bubbles served with delicious food services with a contemporary twist. As a non tea or coffee drinker it looks like I will have to drink the bubbles – well it’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!
