G Spots! Spectacular Views from the Ninth Floor

IMG_2510.JPGSince opening its doors to the public six years ago, The Fitzwilliam Hotel has been synonymous with quality, style and some of the best parties in town. So when the invite for its newest event space, ’The Ninth Floor’ fell onto my doormat, I knew it would be special.

When you are in the bar or lounge of The Fitzwilliam you don’t fully appreciate what’s above you, but once you get a chance to take in the views of Belfast that The Ninth Floor has to offer you can appreciate why this will be the hottest ticket in town this summer.

The newly refurbished space is perfect for event launches, drinks receptions and private dining, as it holds about 40 guests sitting and 70 standing. Although the attention to detail with the design is matched throughout the hotel, what sells this space are the panoramic views across the city. I am not great with heights, but even braved my fears to get close enough to see straight down Howard Street, May Street and beyond.

Although the views kept us entertained with pictures galore, ever the thoughtful hosts, the Fitzwilliam folk had put on a Silk and Sparkle themed wedding fashion show with outfits from Blush, Style Academy models in slinky lingerie from the Orchid Room, the most beautiful floral displays from Floral Earth and a jewellery showcase from Stella & Dot. Not forgetting champagne and canapés, as taking all those pictures is thirsty work.

Being an event organiser in my day job, I can’t wait to host a client do here soon, but in the meantime I will be enjoying the cocktails in the bar especially as the brilliant Stephen Clements plays here on the first and last Friday of every month. But by the sounds of it this summer, it won’t just be Friday at the Fitz, it could even be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday!
