G Spots! An Adventure of Silence

13164303_1205708109448614_631226242450172611_nWe all lead busy lives and if you are anything like me, your day is going at 100 miles per hour and the only slowing down you do is when you’re asleep or sick! I like being busy, but I know it can be difficult to find time to actually breathe and enjoy the beauty of the world around me. Between emails, social media and phone contacts it’s hard not to be on call 24/7.

I’ve tried AWARE’s Mindfulness Programme, and I know some of you GSpotters! have also taken the course. Don’t get me wrong, it did help with managing the busyness on some level – however it’s always good to try other ways of balancing a hectic existence. Now’s your time to rectify the situation, as the team behind FireWalking International is running an amazing retreat in a truly magical location. Best of all, we have a competition for ONE lucky BT reader to win a place on it – read on to find out how…

13151986_1205708916115200_2684886869484402462_nThe Adventure of Silence retreat (16-18 August) gives a small group (16 people max) the chance to stay in a restored school house in Donegal, which is both modern while holding onto it’s original style. You will be sharing your accommodation in well appointed rooms and wholesome vegetarian meals are included.

During your time there, you will have the chance to connect with yourself and disconnect from all of the distractions and pressures that you normally face – this means no mobiles and you’ll have to leave searching for Pikachu until you get back to reality!

Every aspect of this retreat will be about realignment.  You will get “head space” through the activities and “down time”. A lot of the time will be spent in silence, but it will have designated times for sharing and discussing the learning that is taking place. You will have a number of experiences to enhance learning and will include various meditations, mindful eating and an all night Fire Vision Quest.

13178759_1205708479448577_3530904349868281465_nWow sounds too good to be true! Well if you want to capture the experience with photos, you will need to bring a camera and not a camera phone – oh and note taking is recommended.

I know it might seem a bit daunting giving up contact with the online world, but I read a report out today that says millions of us are opting for a digital detox and stepping away from our phones and the internet and connecting with each other again. The wilds of Donegal is the perfect location for this, but make sure you keep your wits about and don’t start connecting with the sheep!

We are giving away ONE place to a lucky Belfast Times reader which is worth £225. All you have to do to enter is tell us what one thing stresses you out. Send answer, name and contact number to win@belfasttimes.co.uk Closing date Tuesday 9 August @ 9pm.
