Fifty shades fever has swept through cinemas this month and its raunchy content has made women of a certain age turn fifty shades of red never mind grey. Before you ask, yes I did succumb and go to see it, and no I didn’t think it was as good as the book!
Still on a film high I was happy to receive an invite to the launch of the Belfast Cinema Club, which kicks off on Wednesday 13 May and will show a range of classic movies in the quaint setting of the Tudor Cinema in Comber.
The first film on show is one of the most well-known movies, Casablanca or should that be one of the most well-known movie lines of all time, ‘Play it again Sam’. The vintage fun even starts before arriving at the cinema as guests will be travelling (at 6.30pm from Belfast centre) in style in either a beautiful classic 1961 Bristol MW or a 1951 Leyland Tiger.
The cost is £10 per person and this will be a monthly event with themed movies being screened throughout the year. Guests are even able to make suggestions about movies they would like to see – Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman would get my vote.
I’d say this will appeal to movie buffs, hipsters, or love birds like me and my boyfriend in search of a romantic night out – hopefully we all have one thing in common…..our love of popcorn!
Tickets are available to purchase at the Irish Tour Ticket shop in Great Victoria Street (Opposite Grand Opera House) by phone 028 90 31 01 01 or online using the link below
