Freezin’ for a reason with @fasasupport

20131126-175441.jpgFASA (Forum for Action on Substance Abuse and Suicide Awareness) is everyone to come together on New Year’s Eve to take a plunge in the icy waters of Ballywalter Beach.

For the 3rd consecutive year, FASA are calling the everyone to come together and raise awareness of the life changing services of the charity.

The event will take place at 2pm for registration in Brew Ha Ha Coffee Shop, Ballywalter and the plunge will begin at 2:30pm. Participants will then be invited back to the Coffee shop for some hot food and drinks and entertainment.

The Polar Bear Plunge is an event ran throughout the world and is seen as a great way of challenging yourself, having fun and helping a great charity.

Participants will receive a Polar Bear Plunge T-Shirt, a great pin badge reward and the great feeling for freezing your “fur” off for a truly worthy cause.

FASA are looking for individuals and teams to enter the event and also to come up with the best creative fancy dress costumes for plunging into the Irish Sea. The FASA Polar bear plunge will offer a unique opportunity for your friends, family and colleagues to participate in an exciting, team building activity that will generate synergy and boost morale.

The money raised from this event will all go towards to life changing services that FASA provide for the community. FASA have an excellent reputation and support for the services they provide to individuals, families and communities regarding issues of crisis, suicide, self-harm, substance misuse and mental health and wellbeing. They work with schools, community groups, families, vulnerable people and young people at risk, removing the potential for stigma and promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

Registration is £15 and you will receive a fundraising pack and sponsor forms then all we ask for you to raise as much as you can. There is no training needed specifically for this event just a willingness for a challenge and the heart to help change lives.
