It’s almost West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s almost that time of year again when you are getting all prepped to perfection for the West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK. It’s back for its fourteenth season, and takes place from 13-21 October across various venues in Belfast. It’s sure to be packed with more glamour and high fashion than ever before, so make sure you are dressed to impress for the biggest fashion event of the season.

The week will include kids’ shows and workshops brought to you by The OUTLET at W5 as well as chic afternoon teas at the Merchant Hotel, the Diet Coke Design Award, the Fashion ReFound project and the super stylish Style Sunday event at James Street South restaurant as well as the main catwalk shows in the Europa FASHIONWEEK Centre.

SCHEDULE
Saturday 13th October

The OUTLET Catwalk Show at W5 featuring collections including stylish kids’ looks and yummy mummy trends. Hot topics on the day will cover fashion-centric careers including Design, Make Up, Photography, Recycling, Nutrition and Fashionable Food and will feature guest speakers from these fashionable professions. Shows & workshops are FREE, just pay regular W5 entry – Adults £7.90, Children £5.90, Students £6.40. Payment on entry. Shows at 2pm and 3.30pm. Location: W5, the Odyssey.

Wednesday 17th October

If fashion rocks your world, now its set to rock your home! ReFound is a unique platform to promote local creative talent and design, while offering furniture buyers an alternative in home styling – one with that’s eco-conscious & chic-onomic!

‘FASHION REFOUND’ will see 8 up-and-coming and more established fashion designer/makers apply their fashion creativity to a home interior piece, exclusively for ReFound. The Designers are Grainne Maher of Pluck & Devour and Grainne Maher Millenery, Jude Cassidy Textiles, Katie Brown Textiles, Mary Murphy of Sioda Lingerie, Dave Henderson Fashion, Nor Lisa Fashion, Mary Callan Textiles, Larissa Watson of Goddess & Swift.

As part of Belfast Fashion Week’s calendar of exclusive events, fashion enthusiasts will be able to bag a one-off piece by your favourite local designer by attending the FASHION ReFound event on Wednesday 17th Event runs 7-9pm. Admission free.

Thursday 18th October

Designer Boutiques Catwalk Show featuring Blush, Harrison, and Jourdan from the Lisburn Road in Belfast. Diamond Dolls in Banbridge, Natoria in Larne, Snooty Fox in Dungannon, and pieces from designers Una Rodden and Grainne Maher. Start time 8pm

Show 2
High Street Catwalk Show featuring Autumn/Winter collections from French Connection, Benetton, Marks & Spencer, Exhibit Clothing, and Jigsaw as well as George at ASDA and a range of discounted high street lines from The Outlet in Banbridge including Oasis, Next clearance, L.K. Bennett, Olsen and Staccato. Also showing are a selection of CastleCourt stores including Designers at Debenhams, Warehouse, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and more…. Show starts 8.30pm

Saturday 20th October

Evening Show
NI Designer Catwalk Show and Diet Coke Design Award This exciting show will feature talented, up-and-coming local designers including milliners Grainne Maher as well as John Paul from Derry. Renowned Belfast designer Una Rodden will finale with her collection but we’ll also see Grainne Maher’s Pluck and Devour jewellery range, as well as independents Riona Treacy, David Henderson, Nor Lisa, Jude Cassidy, Katie Wilson, Mary Callan, Ruedi Maguire, Sean-Henry Van Der Simon’s Knitwear and Stephen Mageean. Show time 8pm

Afternoon Teas
Afternoon Teas at the Merchant Hotel hosting designer retailer Cruise. A stylish afternoon of teas, delicious sandwiches, pastries and chic cakes, as well as a sparkling cocktail from West Coast Cooler. Seasoned stylists will talk through the season’s key looks from top designers including Victoria Beckham, Amanda Wakeley and Armani as well as answering personal styling dilemmas for ladies of all shapes, sizes, and shopping budgets. Event runs 2-4pm

Sunday 21st October

Style Sunday at James Street South. Take an up close and personal look at the latest trends for Autumn/Winter in Belfast hot spot James Street South with stunning fashions from local boutiques. Get helpful style pointers from make up artist Paddy McGurgan and Autumn/Winter FASHIONWEEK hair partner Andrew Mulvenna. Show runs 2-4pm
