Presenter Alasdair Malloy and conductor Stephen Bell capture the imagination with some great family movies like Shrek, The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Sound of Music, The Lion King and much much more!
Scottish presenter Alasdair Malloy has had a richly varied and diverse musical life. Trained as a percussionist at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he has now been Principal Percussion with the BBC Concert Orchestra for over twenty years. His fascination for unusual musical instruments led to him become a Glass Harmonica specialist, one of only a handful in the world, and he has performed with his various glass instruments in concerts worldwide as well as recording with diverse artists including Icelandic pop star Björk. The combination of his vivacious personality, his enthusiasm for music and his soft Scottish accent has resulted in Alasdair becoming an extremely popular presenter of family-friendly concerts and his highly original programmes continue to introduce hundreds of thousands of people to music in a highly individual and accessible way.
Why not join the Ulster Orchestra for the perfect family day out including some great sing-a-longs and a quiz!
