The ever superb Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival is about to begin another wonderful season. I haven’t really looked at whats showing until today when I spotted this little random bit of local uniqueness, and something that’s sure to be intriguing, it’s only an Ulster Kama Sutra!
This production is based on interviews and confessions by people from across NI, and during its run in White’s Tavern it will feature sketches, songs, a DJ and some unforgettable puppets (one can only imagine!). Clearly it’s inspired by the ancient Hindu text, but with a local take on it, it’s sure to be an outrageous and entertaining evening of puppet-filled fun!
What makes these shows even more unique is the news that it’s being staged as a “crash test cabaret”. Meaning it’s part of the development for the show which hopes to tour Northern Ireland early next year. So once each performance is over, you can stay and have your say, add to the graffiti wall and get your words into the mouth of a puppet in 2013 when The Ulster Kama Sutra next takes to the road.
What do you reckon? It’s definitely different!
Tickets are very limited so don’t miss out. This production is recommended for over 18s.
