The Focal Festival is back again to showcase home-grown talent

Belfast’s Crescent Gardens Set To Welcome Back The Best In Local Entertainment, Food & Drink this weekend.

This weekend at the 2nd Focal Festival you can once again sample some of your favourite NI produce and some brand new food and drink. Well known music acts from across Belfast and beyond are also set to take to the stage.

Festive Focal is a three-day open-air festival (with plenty of marquee coverage don’t worry!) which is focused upon showcasing the best that NI has to offer with LOCAL traders, LOCAL food, LOCAL drinks and LOCAL musicians.

The festival, which will take place on Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd of December, and will feature acts such as Gareth Dunlop, Travis Is A Tourist, The Russian Dolls, Tuskany and Brien.

Doors open at 5pm on Thursday evening with a whole host of exciting local artists, from the ever-talented Mick McDowell, some Christmas Carolling to the outstanding Soul Traders, plus with Steve Job resurrected closing Thursday night with their unique take on the electronic scene it’s a night not to be missed.

Friday kicks off at 3pm with yet again an outstanding line up of local NI musicians, from Belfast band The Russian Dolls who are without doubt becoming one of the most sought after session bands around, Brass heavy musical sensation Fatlip and Nine Inch Nialls are also on the bill for Friday. After you’ve enjoyed these unique covers, Belfast DJ Lathorpus will be taking to the stage with his mix of 80’s disco merged with modern house to close night two.

On Saturday Focal Festival is showcasing Travis Is A Tourist, and Tuskany. Also playing is the well-known, and exceptionally talented Gareth Dunlop, just back from touring with Duke Special, an amazing chance to catch Gareth and his band on home ground for once! Belfast’s hottest new DJ, Brien will close the Festival this year, if you haven’t heard about him or his work where have you been?! He’ll wrap up the festival displaying his own unique blend of disco and house, plus throwing in a few classic crowd pleasers!
