Cathy Martin the #BelfastBeautyBitch reviews The Geneo Facial

This week I took a fantastic new super-facial which is hailed as being better than microdermabrasion for the ultimate in skin rejuvenation. The Geneo facial, which is available in Northern Ireland exclusively at The Beautician salon in Ballyclare, is a 3-in-1 facial that incorporates 3 key steps – exfoliate, infuse & oxygenate.

The first step is a deep exfoliation which has the benefits of microdermabrasion, (but it’s not as icky and uncomfortable!); then the next step is a deep facial rejuvenation with the infusion of essential revitalizing nutrients; and finally, the last stage consists of healing skin oxygenation from within via radio frequency waves. There are two different types of serums which are used in the second stage – I had the Neo Bright serum and I have to say I found the whole process quite relaxing – unlike some modern medi-facials which can be uncomfortable and just generally unpleasant despite good results.

Breakthrough OxyGeneo™ technology provides superior anti-aging results by treating the skin at a deeper level – right into the dermis and beyond. The treatments are suitable for all skin types – any ethnicity and pigmentation, sensitive skin, and even for those with scar tissue and couldn’t otherwise have abrasion treatments.

The glossy leaflets make the following claims & benefits(and I must stress here that Alison from The Beautician salon recommends a course of 6 treatments over 6 weeks for optimum results):
· Skin Plumping & Hydrating
· Restored Skin Volume
· Renewed Youthful Glow
· Increased Collagen
· Reduced hyper-pigmentation
· Improved Skin Cell Production
· Reduce Appearance of Wrinkles
· Safe for ANY skin type!

My skin definitely lost its winter lacklustre immediately and it was replaced with a brightened, more youthful glow. I felt revived and refreshed and content in the knowledge that all I had to do afterwards was just sit back and wait for the collagen to continue working its magic!

Later that day at dinner, my other half asked me what I had got up to during my day, and in the course of things I mentioned that I’d had a facial, asking if he noticed anything different. He just told me I had a ‘lovely wee glow’.

Well, if a northern Irish bloke gives a compliment like that, it must be a winner!
