But first of all, as promised, let’s talk about my week with my Benefit guy buys. After my chat with Mark, the Benefit makeup expert at the Menary’s bloggers night, I headed into the Bangor Menary’s store to stock up on my guy buys.
Huge thanks to Toni in the Bangor Menary’s store for helping out with my experiment and getting me my stock of Refined Finish Facial Polish, Triple Performing Moisturiser, Doctor Feel Good and Porefessional.
My new morning routine was definitely an experience, first of all is the mental barrier that Benefit is makeup and not for me, but it didn’t take long to realise that it’s not makeup, it’s maintenance.
Step 1 Facial polish is a great exfoliating product and definitely woke up my sleepy face first thing in the morning on the days I used it. And believe me, l need something to wake my face up!
Step 2 was the Triple Performing Moisturiser , a tiny pea size drop is all you need, and I loved that it was lighter than other moisturisers I had tried before. And if it has SPF15 to help stop premature ageing, I’m up for that.
Step 3 was Doctor Feel Good and as I was told by Mark at Benefit, it actually does leave your skin feeling softer and helps soothe that post shave skin.
Step 4 was Porefessional which is the only product which, to me, feels a bit like makeup as it’s skin coloured, but if Dermot O’Leary can use it then I’m up for it as well. The good part is that when i applied it to my T-Zone, it is translucent and I didn’t notice it on my face.
So that was my morning 4 step routine for the week. The only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the Doctor Feel Good tin which was a bit of a nuisance to open.
Unbelievably the 4 steps have quickly become part of my routine as it’s so easy to do, and the big added bonus was people noticing my skin looked really good! Result! Maybe I am a Benefit guy afterall, but I just need to remember, it’s not makeup, it’s maintenance.
Back to the competition though. The lovely people from Benefit Ireland have supplied us with a package of ‘How to look the best at everything’ . It’s their fab little complexion makeup kit which includes a little tube of Porefessional.
