Belfast Music City

Just as Hallowe’en events spring up around the city, a number of venues kick of Belfast Music week, culminating in the much talked and written about MTV European Music Awards.
Music week is a celebration of local bands, industry, venues and the local musical community, and from the 30th October, more than 30 venues bring Belfast Music week to life.
Over 100 acts will take over Belfast and you can witness performances in shopping centres and train stations, classical or urban acts, traditional or jazz nights along with record launches and exhibitions.
The week finishes off with the Music Awards on the 6th November, on 3 stages, the Odyssey, the Ulster Hall and the City Hall, with Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow Patrol and much more. The line up will continue to be announced over the next 20 days before the Awards take place.
In the meantime though, Rihanna has already taken centre stage in the city and taken over the press and TV for three days while she recorded her music video for the number one single, We Found Love.
The video has yet to be released but check out the first of three behind the scenes videos released today.
In celebration of the Belfast Music week and the MTV awards, Belfast Times have created this limited edition MTV inspired cranes print, which will be on sale in St Georges Market from this weekend, and also hopefully available to order on canvas. So why not pop into the Market and look for us this Saturday from 9am-3pm.
