New and exciting ballet ‘The Object of My Affection’ visits Theatre at The Mill on Fri 16 May as part of its world premiere tour. This unique dance performance examines the relationships we form with objects, from technology to trinkets and treasures.
‘The Object of My Affection’ fuses classical ballet with theatricality. It poses powerful questions like “Which would we hate to lose more, the phone we rely on every day or our grandmother’s ring that never leave its box?”
Through three dance pieces from upcoming and established choreographers, 21st Century social themes are addressed such as the power held by a throne and forming an attachment to a person you may never met.
The company’s Artistic Director David Murley said,
“By exploring how we can all too easily become attached to material possessions that dictate the course of our lives or how human affection can go unfulfilled we will be presenting an evening of classically-inspired dance that will be both entertaining and thought-provoking.”
Don’t miss this inspirational and engaging evening.
Tickets, which cost £15 and £10 (concessions), can be booked online at www.theatreatthemill.com or through Box Office on 028 9034 0202.
